Over Coronavirus, Nigeria Embassy in US Shut Down

US based Nigeria Embassy in Washington DC and Atlanta has suspended passport interview and biometric data capture over the wide spreading Coronavirus.

This suspension according to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), will  take effect from Monday until further notice. The Nigeria diplomatic mission in US made this known in separate statements.

The Embassy revealed that the decision was made to put measure and protect the health safety and well being of the staff and all passport applicants. 

 it is released however, that Emergency Travel Certificate (ETC) will be issued to those who have to travel urgently through mail.

"The Nigeria Embassy in Washington DC said, the applicants for ETC have to forward their applications by mail, attaching the relevant documents and self-addressed mailing envelope.

"Also, the consulate in Atlanta added that the ETC would be processed and mailed back to the applicants.
This was a result of President Trump's declaration of national emergency over the rapid spreading of coronavirus on Friday which has unnerved the entire world.

"Report has shown that as of Sunday morning, the virus had infected more than 2, 815 people and killed 59 others in 49 states across the U.S., including the capital Washington, D.C. as reported by THE GUARDIAN
